New RRL Train Services
Media Release - 21.11.2016
Wyndham City welcomes the Andrews Labor Government announcement that they will introduce 80 additional V/Line services in January 2017 as part of a new timetable.
There will be a new train at 8:43am from Wyndham Vale to Melbourne, on top of 18 services on the Geelong line that will stop at Wyndham Vale and Tarneit.
In addition, two more services to the city will stop at Tarneit in the morning peak and two more Sunday services to and from Waurn Ponds will stop at Wyndham Vale and Tarneit, boosting frequency for local passengers.
The 80 extra V/Line services each week are the first of more than 170 announced in 2016-17 Victorian Budget, which invests $1.3 billion in better public transport for regional Victoria.
The Budget also delivered $280 million for new carriages, to boost capacity on the busiest regional services.
The new train timetables will be available for download from 28 November via Public Transport Victoria's website.
Timetable updates, including new bus and coach services, will be added to PTV’s Journey Planner and PTV App from 5 January 2017.
Another timetable change is scheduled for mid-next year, which will introduce even more regional services.
